Vitreolysis

Vitreolysis at Petelin Vision

Floaters — those drifting specks or strands that move when you move your eyes — are caused by small clumps of collagen fibers within the vitreous, the clear gel that fills the inside of the eye. While often harmless, they can become frustrating when they interfere with reading, driving, or simply enjoying a clear view of the world.

At Petelin Vision, we’re pleased to offer vitreolysis, an advanced, non-invasive laser procedure that precisely targets and vaporizes bothersome floaters. Using short pulses of laser light, the treatment breaks the clumps into smaller particles or completely dissolves them, reducing or eliminating their visual impact.

The procedure is performed in the office and typically takes less than 30 minutes. Most patients notice improvement shortly afterward, and because there’s no incision or downtime, you can resume normal activities right away.

Vitreolysis isn’t necessary for every type of floater — that’s why a detailed evaluation by our experienced ophthalmologists is essential. During your consultation, we’ll determine whether this treatment is right for you and design a personalized plan to restore clearer, more comfortable vision.

Clearer sight can be just a laser flash away.
